Breast Augmentation Implants can be inserted either through the nipple, which leaves an almost invisible scar, through the crease under the breast, which leaves a small (3cm) scar, or through the Axilla (armpit).

Breast augmentation is the most common procedure performed in plastic cosmetic surgery. Every year over a million and a half surgeries are performed worldwide, but in the past 50 years little has changed in the world of breast implants.
The implants have the same structure that they had in 1962 when Conan and Gove introduced the first one, a silicone shell filled with either saline or silicone gel. About ten years ago dr Green, a world-renowned plastic surgeon, had an aha moment. The breast implant is emplaced behind the glandular tissue but in front the muscle and affords the most aesthetic results.
The breast implant is emplaced beneath the pectoralis major muscle. The implant partially behind the pectoralis muscle, wherein the lower portion of the implant is not completely covered by the muscle, is referred to as dual plane placement.
The breast implant is emplaced beneath the pectoralis major muscle as well as behind connective tissue, such that it is firmly behind the chest muscle wall.

Most breast augmentation procedures are done in outpatient surgery facilities. A compression dressing or bra and prescribe medication will help to manage pain. Recover before resuming daily activities. Follow activity and lifting restrictions to avoid complications. Swelling will subside within a few days, some swelling may persist for several weeks.
