Qualified as specialist in orthopedic surgery in 2002 in Denmark, followed by a fellowship at Broadgreen and Liverpool University Hospitals in England. In 2004 he became in charge of cartilage treatment and research at Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark, in 2006 he was part of the group who developed cartilink 3; an autolog chondrocyte implantation method for cartilage repair. Since 2010 he has been in charge of hand, knee and foot surgery at two private hospitals in Norway.
Dr Larsen is registered as senior consultant at the General Medical Council in England, as specialist in orthopedic surgery and traumatology in Spain, as specialist in orthopedic surgery in Norway and Denmark. He performed more than 15000 arthroscopies, more than 1000 ACL reconstructions and is specialized in hand, foot and knee surgery.
He is supervisor for PhD students within reseach in Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery at the University of Bergen, Norway, and has published several articles in the field of orthopedic surgery.
