Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which have been broken/weakened by decay or a very large filling. The crown completely covers and protects the tooth underneath and restores it to its proper shape and size. They are also used to change the shape and colour of teeth – if you have large gaps between your teeth, your teeth are out of alignment or your teeth are discoloured then crowns could be for you.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. They look and function exactly like the natural teeth.

Traditionally crowns and bridges were made in the laboratory using a metal base with porcelain covering them to create a better colour. However, over time the gums tend to shrink and often an unsightly visible black or grey line starts to be seen at the neck of the tooth. Newer ceramic and hybrid materials allow us greater strength and of course much improved aesthetics at the time of placement and over time.

No prep veneers can be placed over your tooth without no alteration of your natural tooth structure. Lumineers are one well-known example of these types of veneers. However, since Lumineers were first introduced onto the market over 30 years ago we now have other brands of ultra-strong, ultra-thin porcelain materials with improved aesthetics. At the Ocean Clinic we craft our veneers using only the finest quality porcelain to replicate your tooth’s natural translucence and color and still maintain strength in very thin sections.
