BLEPHAROPLASTY (Eye Lift)
More than any other facial feature, the eyes have a tremendous impact on your overall appearance. Unfortunately, your eyes are often the first place to show signs of aging. This is because the skin around your eyes is half as thin as on the rest of your face. It also has fewer oil glands, weaker internal support, and gets more exercise than even your mouth. This, combined with hereditary factors, sun damage, stress and fatigue, explains why the eyelids are often the first to show signs of aging, and why so many people, young and old, men and women, can benefit from eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). It can really make a big difference in the way you look.
Blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery) can remove bags, pouches and excess skin from under and over the eyes.
During upper eyelid surgery (eyelift), Dr. Kaye makes incisions along your natural skin lines and creases, and then separates the skin from underlying muscle and fatty tissue. Once separated, the excess skin (which causes the wrinkles) and fat (which causes the heaviness) is removed and/or sculpted by Dr. Kaye and the incisions are closed.

During surgery of the lower lids, the incision is often made inside the rim of the eyelid. The fat pads causing the «bags» are removed or repositioned. No visible incision is made and no stitches are required.
Wrinkles and crow’s feet around the eyes can also be resurfaced with the laser during the same procedure to produce an even more youthful-looking result. If the muscles of the lower lids need to be tightened, a small, virtually invisible incision is made under the lower eyelashes. Usually this incision is closed with very fine stiches, sometimes it is sealed with a special surgical glue.
