DR. LUIS MIGUEL CAPITAN CANADAS
Born in 1976, Granada (Spain) , Dr. Capitán has a degree of Medicine and Surgery from Granada University. After five years of training at the Maxillofacial unit of the Granada University Hospital Virgen de las Nieves he receives his specialist degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2006.
From the same university he obtained a Master Degree in Tissue Engineering (cum laude) in 2006, preparing his way into specializing in orthognathic and craneo-facial surgery.
Dr. Capitán worked at the Maxillofacial and Implantology Institute of the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona with Dr. Hernández Alfaro and at the Morriston University Hospital of Wales together with Professor Adrian Sugar in the Craniofacial and dental facial deformities Unit. Those experiences started his high level of specialization in this field.
Since 2007 he was the head of the oral and maxillofacial department at the USP Hospital Marbella. In the last few years he has focus his work in facial sculpting and facial feminization surgery, in which field he has performed more than 300 procedures and developed new techniques.
Dr. Capitán will lead Ocean Clinic’s Maxillofacial Department from January 2012 onwards.
Dr. Capitán is a fellow of the Spanish Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the European Society of Craniomaxilofacial Surgery.
