BREAST LIFTING (Mastopexy)
Breast Lift (Breast Uplift, Mastopexy) is performed to reshape and to lift a woman’s breasts which have sagged over the years. There are many different reasons for sagging (ptotic) breasts; age, breast feeding, weight loss, hormonal changes and the general skin condition are contributing factors.
In the case of sagging breasts, the skin envelope has become too large in relation to the remaining glandular breast tissue, the breast are losing their fullness and their round shape, they become larger and flatter.
The breast lifting operation (Mastopexy) corrects this problem by removing excess skin, remodeling the glandular breast tissue and lifting the position of the nipple-areola-complex. Depending on the extent of sagging, different surgical techniques are used, starting in cases of minor sagging with a incision only around the areola (benelli-Lift), in cases of moderate ptosis this incision is combined with a vertical cut from the areola down to the breast fold, up to using a Inverse T-Cut (Anchor) Incision in cases of severe sagging.
At Ocean Clinic in Marbella the operation takes between 2-3 hours, depending on the technique, and can be performed under twilight sedation combined with local anesthesia or general anesthesia. In some cases, the up-lift can be combined with implants to enlarge the breasts at the same time,
